Alce Nero tomatoes and vegetables preserve the simplicity and genuineness of the flavours people were accustomed to in the past. They are sun ripened in Emilia Romagna, in the Mezzano Valley, which is situated inside the Po delta area and characterised by peat soils. The varieties grown are Coimbra, Ercole and other varieties with a high content of lycopene, a valuable antioxidant that helps combat free radicals. The production process is completed within an extremely short time in order to protect the taste, aroma and nutritional properties of these tomatoes: only 12 hours from the time of harvest to processing. The pasteurisation process takes place at low temperatures in order to preserve the freshness and aroma of ripe tomatoes. From the field to the processing plant the sensory qualities of the product are continuously controlled and verified in order to offer consumers the best possible flavour.
